They wait in the basement for worker ants to amble into their trap but after a couple of kills those following sense the death of their predecessors and hang back.

The “Black Avengers” as they are now called go to see Henrey and are paid double for the soldier mandibles.

After resting for the night they go back to find the guards battling with a soldier ant in the shop. The beggar and one of the guards crawl away with severe injuries but they are too late to save the last. Despatching this and continuing into the nest they find that the ants are making new tunnels. Quickly killing the diggers they get to the queens chamber and press the attack but the soldier ants are too much even with Hydrix stomping the ants off balance and they barely make it out again. The queen sends her guards after them and Ulalume hangs back and has to be saved by Osgoth a second time.

After payment for the ant mandibles and a nights rest Ulalume goes to buy a dress for Olga. Morlaf casts charm the dressmaker and gets her to sell it for half price.

With her gift secured they abandon the nest and head off to Borderdale. They are harangued by wolves on the way but Hydrix uses the Mask of Fangs to drive them off.
